Delivery and Returns

Fits Smart Tailoring delivers made-to-measure shirts and suits across South Africa, with studio collection available by arrangement. If the fit needs a small adjustment, we guide you through the next step so the final garment sits properly.

How your order moves from cutting room to your door

Once your measurements, style choices and fabric selection are confirmed, your garment enters production at our Rosebank studio. Shirts and suits are cut, checked, assembled and finished before the final packing stage. For customers in Johannesburg, Sandton, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town and other areas, we then send the order by courier to the address you provide on the enquiry form.

Delivery times depend on the item, the fabric chosen and the current studio queue. A shirt usually moves faster than a suit, while wedding or corporate orders may need extra planning time. During public holidays, peak season and periods of heavy load-shedding, timelines can shift a little. We keep you updated if anything changes so you know what to expect.

  • Made-to-measure shirts are packed flat and protected for courier transport
  • Suits are packed to help reduce creasing and handling marks
  • Orders are sent to residential, office or event addresses where suitable
  • We use tracking where available so you can follow the parcel in transit

Courier delivery across South Africa

We offer nationwide courier delivery, including metropolitan and outlying areas. If you are based in a sectional title estate, office park or a rural town, please make sure the address details are complete and include access notes where needed. This helps avoid delays at gate houses, building receptions and security points.

For coastal deliveries, especially in Durban and Cape Town, we package garments carefully to help protect them from humidity during transit. If the parcel will sit at reception or in a vehicle for part of the day, rather use a shaded collection point. The same care applies in hot inland areas where heat can affect packaging and fabric condition.

  • Send a full street address, suburb and contact person for delivery
  • Include unit, suite or estate details when relevant
  • Tell us if the parcel must be signed for on arrival
  • Make sure someone is available to receive the delivery at the chosen address

Studio collection by arrangement

If you prefer to collect from our Rosebank studio, we can arrange that once your order is ready. Collection suits customers who work nearby, want to combine pick-up with a fitting, or need a faster handover than courier timing allows. For some clients in Sandton, Midrand, Randburg or Pretoria, collection can also be the easiest option when they are already travelling into Johannesburg.

Collection is by prior arrangement only so the order is ready when you arrive. Please do not come expecting same-day pickup unless it has been confirmed. If someone is collecting on your behalf, they should bring the order reference and a simple authorisation note from you. That saves time and avoids mix-ups at the studio.

  • Collection is arranged once the garment has passed final finishing
  • Bring your order reference when collecting in person
  • Let us know if a driver, family member or colleague will collect for you
  • We can combine collection with a quick check on fit if required

If the fit needs attention after delivery

Made-to-measure clothing should sit well, but small refinements are sometimes needed once you wear the garment in real conditions. That can include sleeve balance, waist suppression, trouser length or a collar adjustment on a shirt. If something feels off, tell us soon after delivery while the garment is still unworn and in clean condition.

We look at fit-related concerns on a case-by-case basis and guide you on the next step. In some cases, we may ask for photographs, simple notes on how the garment feels when worn, or an in-studio follow-up if you are near Rosebank. A carefull check early on makes it easier to sort out a small issue before it becomes a bigger one.

  • Contact us as soon as you notice the issue
  • Keep the garment clean and unaltered
  • Send clear notes on where the fit feels tight, loose or uneven
  • We will advise whether a studio review or alteration refinement is needed

Returns, exchanges and non-fit issues

Because each garment is made to your measurements and selected details, returns work differently from off-the-rack clothing. We do not handle items as a simple shelf return. Instead, if there is a problem with workmanship, size interpretation or a detail that does not match the confirmed order, we review it and decide on the most practical correction.

If an item arrives damaged from transit, or if there is a clear issue with the finished order, keep the packaging and let us know through the contact page enquiry form. Photos help us assess the matter quicker. Where a correction is approved, we will explain how the garment should be sent back or brought in, and whether a collection or courier handover is more suitable.

  • Do not alter, wash or wear the garment if you want it assessed
  • Keep swing tags, packaging and any delivery note where possible
  • Report courier damage promptly after receiving the parcel
  • Any return handling is confirmed before you send the item back

What to expect if you ordered for an event or team

Wedding parties, corporate groups and repeat clients often work to fixed dates, so delivery planning matters. We recommend building in extra time before a wedding, conference, award evening or season launch. That gives us space for finishing, courier transit and any small follow-up if the fit needs checking.

For group orders, each garment is tracked against the approved measurements and styling notes. If several shirts or suits are going to different people, make sure the allocation list is correct before delivery leaves the studio. A quick double-check at this stage helps avoid mix-ups and last minute stress.

  • Share your event date early so we can plan around it
  • Confirm who receives each garment in a group order
  • Allow extra days for remote addresses outside major centres
  • If timing is tight, ask about collection instead of courier delivery
